string2 string1

Introduced in 1949, the String shelf system is regarded as a design icon and still looks as modern today as it did almost 60 years ago. An uncomplicated, versatile and practical system that is simple to construct, to alter and to add to. In addition to the standard String shelf and panel components there is also a range of units and work stations available.

Cone Base Desk Clock

Made from lacquered metal, this sculptural clock is one of a series created by modernist designer George Nelson between 1948 and 1954. His work epitomises the exuberant, forward-looking designs that emerged in post-war America when, as Design Director for furniture manufacturer Herman Miller, he collaborated closely with, among others, Charles and Ray Eames, Harry Bertoia and Isamu Noguchi.

It houses an eclectic mix of vintage Art, Furniture, Lighting and lifestyle Accessories including a wide range of Twentieth Century Design Classics. Expanding Table… Magic!

Onedeko presents the Sprite Coffee/Dining Table. Do you need a dining room, but lack the adequate space for one? Does your living room need to double up as a proper working space? If so, look no further than to the elegant Sprite coffee/dining table – a unique piece of furniture design and a great space saver.

This coffee table doubles up as a full sized dining table at the push of a button. Concealed within its design is a single button that raises or lowers the table. With its top extended, the coffee table instantly becomes a dining table that can seat up to six people. This versatile table transforms any small living area into a proper dining or workspace.

I know that this isn’t strictly retro but it is such a clever design that I thought it was worth sharing with you all!
