Cone Base Desk Clock

Made from lacquered metal, this sculptural clock is one of a series created by modernist designer George Nelson between 1948 and 1954. His work epitomises the exuberant, forward-looking designs that emerged in post-war America when, as Design Director for furniture manufacturer Herman Miller, he collaborated closely with, among others, Charles and Ray Eames, Harry Bertoia and Isamu Noguchi.

Produced for 2 years only.

Fibre glass shell in white parchment colourway on white metal swag leg base on the more desirable lounge height base.

A beautiful chair which is rarely seen in magazines.

Planet Bazaar is one of Central London’s top “Pop” shops. It houses an eclectic mix of vintage Art, Furniture, Lighting and lifestyle Accessories including a wide range of Twentieth Century Design Classics. I would advise you ring the shop before going though as I have been once or twice only to find that dreaded ‘Out to Lunch’ sign on the door!
