These new OLLE dining chairs from IKEA certainly pay a passing resemblance to the classic Ercol, same look for the fraction of the price! I personally would use one on its own, possibly in the bedroom or bathroom to add that touch of colour.

The Ercol stacking chair was originally designed by Lucian Ercolani in 1957 and has been in almost constant production since that date. Made in solid beech with elm seats, they are finished with twocoats of durable matt water borne lacquers. They are available in almost any colour but these ones are coloured with Farrow & Ball paints.

The product distinguishes with combined innovative and traditional materials: the frame is made of powder coated, laser-cut metal combined with the natural old solid wood – a touch of purest nature. None the less interesting is the shape – a stylistic mix of decades. An eclectic is brought to a delicate purity. MW is an allusion to antiquity and at the same time it is obviously an object of contemporary design. It comes with a real story of one hundred years original solid wood which at those times was a part of a wooden Lithuanian house.
